[3/26 - 3/30]
After I was discharged from the Korean military service, I haven't written a journal. I did write from time to time on my blog here, but those are more like reviews or some random thoughts. For practicing my English writing and reviewing my life in the US, I decided to write my thoughts regularly again. Probably I need others (maybe your assistant) assistant to keep this thing in one piece. Feel free to tell me if you see some parts that don't make sense or are awkward.
I arrived in Ann Arbor (A2) on 3/26 through Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Checked my room at Six11, unpacked stuff in my unit. I was surprised that the unit was neat and well maintained. Also, only one Korean roommate was living there. After unpacking, meeting my PI, getting MCard, I met my old friend who I had not talked for more than five years. I don't remember well, but I think we had dinner and went shopping (Bed Bath and Beyond & Kroger). If I had not had him, I would have used my sleeping bag on day 1 in A2.
Dealt with administration works (Tax-related, Check-in, Travel validation, etc.) and had a brief facility workshop( or tour). Of course, I opened a bank account at Chase. Since I didn't have any credit history, I could only get a debit card. Also, I got a sim card from Cricket (It turned out it was a wrong move. Well, I had to switch to GoogleFi to avoid spams and Chinese robocalls).
I went to 'The M Den,' the place where you could get clothes, souvenirs, or anything with "M." I have a vague memory of what I got there, but I'm pretty sure I bought some clothes.
Overall, everything went smoothly, except for the weather. It was the last week of March, but I couldn't put my heavy coat deep in my closet. My new journey starts here with a hugh pressure but, I want to prove it is the correct choice. There's no other way except doing my best. Work hard, Find better options, Learn enthusiastically, and Meet good people! Go for it!
