Windows 10: Finding IP address [윈도우10: IP 주소 찾기]

가끔씩 사용하는 기능이라서 그런지 자주 잊는 내용들을 모아놓은 페이지입니다.
개인적으로 유용하게 사용하는 기능들이고, 각자 본인의 상황에 맞는지 확인하시고 참고해주세요.

특정 컴퓨터에 원격 접속을 하기 위해서는 특정 프로그램들을 이용하여야 한다. 윈도우 시스템에서는 아래의 프로그램들이 대표적이다.
- TeamViewer
- Chrome Remote Desktop
- Remote Desktop Connection 
- mRemoteNG

TeamViewer, Chrome Remote Desktop 같은 경우에는 본인의 계정을 통해 접속하는 것이기 때문에, IP 주소를 알 필요가 없다. 하지만, Remote Desktop Connection, mRemoteNG 같은 경우, 접속하려고 하는 컴퓨터의 IP 주소를 알고 있어야만 접속이 가능하다. 필자의 경우, Remote Desktop을 사용하기 때문에 IP 주소가 필요하였다.
제목에는 'Windows 10'이라고 적어 놓기는 했지만, 요즘에는 컴퓨터 운영체제와 상관없이 본인의 IP주소를 찾는 것이 매우 간단해졌다. 하지만, 알아두어야 할 점이 하나 있다. 

그것은 '공유기 (Router)' 사용 여부이다. 대한민국 대부분의 가정집에서 공유기를 사용하고 있겠지만, 회사나 학교 같이 공유기 없이 개인에게 IP를 할당하는 경우도 있으니 두 가지 경우 구분해서 설명을 하고자 한다.

The bottom line is that you need your Public IP address to access your computer through the internet. You can bypass the issue if you install TeamViewer or Chrome Remote Desktop. There are several different ways to get the Public IP address.
Method 1. Type 'My IP' into the Google search bar
- It will directly show your Public IP address.

Method 2. Use Command Prompt from the Windows
Type 'Command' into Windows' search bar, and it will show 'Command Prompt (or Windows PowerShell)'. Execute the program and type 'ipconfig/all'. This command will display the current internet connection. 

If you're NOT using an internet router, the IP address that you get should be the same as what Method 1 shows. [Public IP address] 

However, if you use an internet router, the IP address that you get is probably different from what you see from Method 1. You will only get the Private IP address which the router gives you. If you use devices within the network (under the same router), you can access different devices using the Private IP address. However, what you want is to control your computer from the outside (ex. between home and work or school, etc.), then you need the Public IP address.

You can get the public IP address by Method 1. or by accessing the router setting webpage. To do so, type '192.168.0.1' to the internet address bar. You can find the 'admin ID' and 'PW' by checking your router. Once you get in the setting, find the Public IP address.

Case 1. 공유기를 사용하지 않는 경우 (Direct connection from the port)
- 방법 1: 네이버 메인 화면에서 '내 IP'라고 치면 본인의 공인 IP 주소를 확인할 수 있음

- 방법 2: cmd (Command Prompt: 명령 프롬프트) 이용하여 확인
Windows Logo 클릭 >> 'cmd' or 'command' 입력 >> Command prompt 실행 >> ipconfig/all 입력 >>  IPv4 Address 값 확인

Case2. 공유기를 사용하는 경우 (Public IP vs. Private IP)
- 많은 경우 컴퓨터뿐만 아니라, 핸드폰, 태블릿 등 다양한 전자기기를 사용하기 위해 공유기를 사용하여 인터넷 접속을 하고 있을 것이다. 공유기를 사용하는 경우, 공인 IP와 사설 IP의 개념을 알고 있어야 한다.

인터넷을 개통할 때, 통신사에서 IP를 받는데, 이 IP가 공인 IP이다. 사설 IP는 공유기(Router)를 통해 생성된 IP인데, 공유기를 사용하고 있을 때 Command Prompt를 통해 확인하면 사설 IP를 확인할 수 있다. 사설 IP는 말 그대로, 개인이 사용하는 공유기가 생성한 IP 주소이며, 공유기에 연결되어 있는 기계들 사이들끼리의 연결은 가능하지만, 외부에서 사설 IP를 이용하여 공유기에 물려있는 장비에 접속을 할 수는 없다. 

- 방법 1: 네이버 메인 화면에서 '내 IP'라고 치면 본인의 공인 IP 주소를 확인할 수 있음
- 방법 2: 공유기 관리자 페이지에 접속: 192.168.0.1 시스템 정보 확인 페이지에서 '외부 IP (IPv4)' 항목 확인. 공유기마다 페이지 설정이 다르게 되어 있지만, 대부분의 경우 쉽게 찾을 수 있다.
